the barrington boar: MARKET GARDEN
I was asked to create the logo and visual identity for the Barrington Boar’s Market Garden, which supplies the pub’s kitchen with home-grown fruit, vegetables and herbs. The garden celebrates heritage varieties and provides a welcoming sanctuary for wildlife and the local community.
My brief was to design an illustrated logo that complemented the established visual identity I created for the pub, whilst giving the Market Garden its own distinctive character.
I created a new illustration featuring ‘Bertie the Boar’ standing among the garden’s plants and produce, creating a playful, cohesive identity that celebrates the garden’s natural surroundings, community spirit and connection to the pub.
I placed Bertie the Boar in the centre of the illustration, and in the background I included key features from the Market Garden, such as the original 19th Century cider press, apple trees, wildlife pond, edible flowers and seasonal produce.
After creating the full rough sketch, I imported this into Fresco where I converted the illustration into a Vector line drawing ready for use in the logos and visual identity.
I created variations of the Vector illustration for use across different format sizes: large, medium and a small logo mark.
